The management of Oomphkart.com wished to have a website that sells products above the ordinary. They know competing in a crowded e-commerce space would not make sense or money if the were like everyone. Hence they came up with a product range, brand identity and a way of life “Above the Ordinary“ During their previous website marketing efforts, they also did a market survey on what an average user or buyer thought Oomphkart was all about. The answer “A Great Gifting Site.”
So to make a website that looks unique has a slick look and feel to the brand, the media and photos look bright and stunning and-and and…people can easily find a product to gift to their loved one’s friends and networks was what Oomphkart wanted.
The biggest challenge was making a website that’s above the ordinary, how does it look different from the other dozen e-commerce stores, how is the customer journey different.
The iMyDigital team before getting started assisted with product photography. Using the colours, pallets and contrasts of the photographs, the website UI, and schema were created. Besides benchmarking some cool designs from international websites and few India brands a slick, responsive and user website portal was born.
The product pictures on the website were mouth watering shots taken by iMydigital’s photographer. The whole website was great content displayed to create an impulse decision for the user to add the product to his / her cart. Apart from this, the categories and subcategories were displayed with some cool vectors adding quirkiness to the look and feel. Besides the website was optimised to the core to ensure it opens, operates and looks as cool on a smartphone as it would on your desktop or laptop. Since the brand was all about cool products and a great gifting website, a special function called the gift finder was created. The user could buy a gift based on Gender, Age, Personality, and Price. The customer experience of the Gift Finder got a “WoW’ in the entire user journey experience. The Gift Finder finally got a great UX to the site and made it “Above the Ordinary” from other e-commerce stores.
